Neighbourhood Spotlight: Queensborough
This week we’re heading across the river to Queensborough, a neighbourhood that feels like its own little town within New Westminster. With quiet streets, riverside views, and a growing mix of shops and restaurants, Queensborough keeps adding new reasons to visit — or stay a while.
Once full of farms and shipyards, Queensborough has changed a lot over the years — but it’s kept that friendly, small-community feel. Neighbours still wave hello, families fill the parks on weekends, and there’s always something happening at the community centre.
The Queensborough Riverfront Walk is a favourite local spot — a flat, scenic trail that runs along the Fraser with great views (and even better sunsets). It’s perfect for walking, biking, or just watching the boats drift by. And if you’re coming from downtown, you can hop on the Q to Q Ferry for a quick (and fun) ride across the river — one of the best ways to explore both sides of New West.
The Queensborough Community Centre is the heart of it all — from fitness classes and family programs to community events, it’s where locals come together. And just down the road, Queensborough Landing makes shopping and dining easy, with outlets, groceries, and plenty of places to grab a bite.
